me

As an amateur biologist and self taught fine artist I am particularly inspired by patterns in the natural world. Fish scales, bird feathers, reptile skin and waves all play a part in my creations. My art is anatomically correct;  my color choice, fanciful. I often use my art to make a statement about our time; the covid pandemic, the war in Ukraine, fossil fuels, solid waste.

I began university as a biology student but quickly changed my focus to art history and finally graphic design as a way to continue with the art that I began as a young child.

I am German born but my heart resides in the tropics and you can readily see that in my choice of characters which are always animals, never people.

In February 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to transform a vacation home owned by a New York-based couple into a gallery featuring selected prints of my artwork. This gallery is located on the Caribbean island of Curacao and was inaugurated with a small vernissage.

My paintings and art prints now adorn private collections in Chicago, Florida, Curaçao, Taiwan, South Africa, and across Europe.
